Competitive Mechanics. PhysFight

The Virtual Laboratory offers the opportunity to participate in intellectual team tournaments through solving experimental interdisciplinary tasks in Virtual Laboratories on physics and technology. The game form allows children to develop functional literacy efficiently.

PhysFight is a popular competitive discipline among schoolchildren who are fascinated with physics. In the last century, the Young Physicists’ Tournament was quite popular among students. As part of the grand event, teams ready to present a report — a timely solution to a certain problem — gathered. The main goal of the competition was not only to win but also to test one’s erudition. The ‘PhysFight’ Virtual Laboratory is a virtual platform for such tournaments. Everyone can participate. As soon as the sides have approved the problem, you can start solving it online. A certain time is allocated for the solution. Then the opposing side has to assess the correct steps and mistakes of their competitors. The roles change. And so, until the winner of the tournament is identified. Tournament table, regulations, strict rules, timeframes, jury, the ability to hold public and private competitions — all this is available in the «PhysFight» Virtual Laboratory. All you have to do is brush up on the basics of physics and register for your first competition.

PhysFight helps the student learn to debate and also feel the taste of victory in a difficult contest. This is how scientists are born!

The «Physics» Virtual Laboratory, section «Competitive Mechanics. PhysFight» allows:

  • Automating processes related to conducting intellectual team tournaments through solving experimental interdisciplinary problems in Virtual Laboratories on physics and technology.

  • Creating and conducting competitions using the following sections of the Physics' Virtual Laboratory: «Mechanics», «Optics», «Molecular Physics and Thermodynamics», «Electrodynamics», «Electromagnetic Field. Faraday».

  • Administrators and/or moderators — to create tournaments and determine winners.

  • Use the tournament manager, which allows the administrator and/or moderator to create and conduct competitions.

  • Administrators and/or moderators — to store and study the results of works created during tournaments.

  • Tournament administrator — to manage the rights of both tournament moderators and regular players.
